Thousand Hills Venture Fund was founded in 2004 as the first privately funded venture capital fund in Rwanda. Since then, THVF and its principals have invested in a wide variety of business sectors in Rwanda and throughout sub-Saharan Africa. For almost two decades, THVF has worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs as well as government officials, NGOs and local business leaders with the common goal
of promoting private sector investment for the benefit of local communities as well as investors.

The investment period for Thousand Hills Venture Fund I, LP has ended, and THVF is no longer accepting proposals for investment. However, it remains fully committed to its mission: To promote private sector investment as one method of engaging and supporting the immense human talent in the region for mutual benefit. THVF and its principals continue to invest in projects and companies with
impact, and support future world leaders, in Rwanda and the region.

African Century Legal Services

AC Legal Services, LLC is led by Robert Fogler, a Colorado (US) licensed attorney with decades of experience in corporate transactions, with a focus on investment, business acquisition and complex financing transactions. He has practiced with a variety of US-based and global law firms, including Mayer Brown and Cooley LLP.

In addition to his private practice, throughout his career Mr. Fogler has been an investor, entrepreneur, C-level executive and board member for a variety of companies. These experiences help him better counsel clients on legal risks in the context of their financial, operational and business goals throughout the life cycle of their company.

In sub-Saharan Africa, Robert has counseled governments, investors, entrepreneurs and NGOs on a wide range of legal and business issues. Among many other activities in the region, he also founded Thousand Hills Venture Fund, one of the first purely private venture capital funds in sub-Saharan Africa (ex-SA), and co-founded and served as CEO of CAfrica Sports, a sports broadcasting company that operated in 30
countries in sub-Saharan Africa.

For many years, Robert has also taught graduate-level classes on Capital Markets in Africa and Political Risk Analysis at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, where he served as Executive Note Editor of the Michigan Law Review. He also holds degrees in Engineering and Philosophy from the University of Michigan. He splits his time between Denver, Colorado and Kigali, Rwanda.
